Weighted Blanket - Single bed size (pink on pink)

Weighted Blankets provide deep pressure all over the body and can be very calming. When used correctly they can be a powerful addition to anyone's sensory tool box. These pink weighted blankets are approximately single bed sized (1 m x 1.5 m) and made from plain fabrics (dark pink on light pink), but fabric colours / patterns and sizing can also be custom made at your request (please see our custom blanket item). Single bed blankets are best suited to older children and adolescents. Blankets are filled with Poly Pellets and so are washable.

Weighted blankets have been found to help restless people sleep easier. With the guidance of an Occupational Therapist this resource can be great for people  with Sensory Integration Dysfunction, ADHD, Autism and many others.

The use of weighted objects to apply deep pressure is known to help the user stay focused, alert, calm and organised. It helps to calm an over-aroused sensory system.

Weighted blankets might be of benefit if one or more of the following is happening for an individual:

-  Difficulties calming to fall asleep

- Restless moving, kicking, pushing up against you or the walls during sleeping

- Enjoys to stack all their toys, books, even chairs onto their bed and crawl under it to have the 'weighted' feeling while they rest

- Enjoys lots of rough and tumble play, pushing and pulling, and loves tight hugs

Occupational Therapists recommend that blankets be no more than 5 - 10 % of a person's body weight, so please take this into careful consideration when thinking about selecting a blanket. If you need help with this please do not hesitate to contact us.

** For NDIS participants, please note that weighted blankets are considered to be Assistive Technology, with a complexity level above 2. In order to purchase a weighted blanket with NDIS funding, you will need to apply to have it included in your plan under the AT budget. The NDIA will decide whether it is approved / included in your plan. For Assistive Technology FAQs you can visit the NDIS page here. **
