Feelings and emotions can be very confusing for some people. Many people with special needs find it hard to read and understand things like facial expressions, tone of voice, body posture and other nonverbal cues that everyone else learns naturally. They struggle to understand both their own feelings and emotions, and those of others. Sometimes their emotional responses to situations may seem to be an overreaction or not matched with the event.
