Hello and welcome to My Diffability Australia, a place where different abilities are celebrated. My Diffability Australia is a neuro-affirming online business supplying toys and resources for people with different abilities.
In 2011 our co-founders Renee (speech pathologist), and Tarryn (occupational therapist) joined forces to found My Diffability. The aim was to create a more supportive and helpful online service for the kids and families that we were working with. Over the years this grew into a business for people of all ages, and all abilities.
Today Renee and a small but passionate team continue to manage the business and love doing what we do. Our team are so grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know and support so many people, families, carers and educators over the years with our resources and advice.
Our continued aim is to provide affordable and beneficial resources, as well as sharing free advice about our resources and how to use them effectively from qualified and experienced therapists.
Renee graduated as a Speech Pathologist in 2004. Throughout her career she has worked almost exclusively with children with additional needs and disabilities and their families, including in large part, neurodiverse children. More recently she has very much been enjoying supporting teens and adults with autism in private therapy. She has provided both therapy and diagnostic services across a range of settings including schools, homes, kinders, childcare centres and more. She has had some amazing opportunities to volunteer in countries as far away as Tajikistan and Bangladesh, supporting therapy teams and families to learn more about Autism and how to support people across the spectrum.
These days Renee dedicates her time to working at My Diffability Australia, and has a young family running her off her feet. She has a passion for writing articles to provide information to families and enjoys recording videos to show how resources can be used to support everyone, ND and NT alike!
