How to order using NDIS Funding

The way we process your order depends on how your plan is managed. If you're not sure how you plan is managed see our 'Understanding how your NDIS Plan is managed' video at the bottom of this page, or contact NDIA on 1800 800 110. 

1- Plan managed orders:

If you need an invoice for your plan manager, follow our simple process here

1. Fill your online shopping cart with the items you want
2. Complete this form
3. Click the 'Create Invoice' button
4. Receive your invoice within 24 hours
5. Send your invoice to your plan manager
6. Your order will be sent once payment is received

2- Self-managed orders: 

Order online, pay and submit your claim to NDIA yourself. You do not need to complete the service agreement form. 

3- Agency (NDIA) managed participants

You will need to follow the steps below. We will do a service booking and submit a claim (if appropriate) to the NDIA directly for you. If it is approved we will process and send your order to you. Please note, we require a new service agreement each time you complete an order with us (even if it is within the same plan period).

1. Add items to your online cart and click "CREATE A QUOTE" at the checkout cart. Do not click 'accept' on the quote, as this may create a duplicate order for you.

3. Scan/email your Service Agreement form back to us: info@mydiffability.com.au

Important Update on NDIS Funding Rules – Effective Thursday, 3 October 2024

We want to keep you informed about recent changes to NDIS legislation that may affect how you use your funding.

As of Thursday, 3 October 2024, the NDIS has introduced updated rules around what can and cannot be purchased using NDIS funds. Here’s what you need to know:

  • NDIS funding can now only be used for supports listed on the approved NDIS Supports list.

  • Funding cannot be used for items or services on the NDIS Non-Supports list.

Please note that these lists don’t cover every possible product or service, and we are unable to provide advice on individual NDIS plans. However, to help guide your purchasing decisions, consider the following questions:

  • Do I need this item because of my disability?

  • Does it relate to the goals or supports outlined in my NDIS plan?

  • Will it help me meet my needs or achieve better life outcomes?

  • Is it included in my NDIS budget and within my funding limits?

  • Is it safe to use?

💡 Tip: It's often helpful to provide supporting documentation from your allied health professional to show how the item relates to your disability and plan goals.

Please note: Low cost and low risk items (Level 1) do not need a form to be sent into the NDIS. Participants with AT funded supports in their plan can seek advice and buy it themselves. Supply of Levels 2-4 require an appropriate assessment form to be sent into the NDIS. Please be aware that some requests for resources may not be able to be processed if an item is not specifically written into your plan and is not considered low risk / low cost (for example an item that is considered to have a complexity level higher than 1 or 2 such as a weighted blanket). These items need to be assessed by the NDIA as part of your planning process and written into your plan if approved.

What is the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)?

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is an independent statutory agency. Their role is to implement the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which will support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers. The NDIS will mean peace of mind for every Australian - for anyone who has, or might acquire, a disability.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing support for Australians with disability, their families and carers.

The NDIS will provide about 460,000 Australians under the age of 65 with a permanent and significant disability with the reasonable and necessary supports they need to live an ordinary life.

As an insurance scheme, the NDIS takes a lifetime approach, investing in people with disability early to improve their outcomes later in life.

The NDIS gives all Australians peace of mind that if their child or loved one is born with or acquires a permanent and significant disability they will get the support they need.

The NDIS supports people with disability to build skills and capability so they can participate in the community and employment.
